The aim in 2006 was to look for a better, more cost-effective way to host a few websites. The solution was to become a reseller, which gave more space for less money, and more control of the web hosting. A few friends asked about web hosting, and UKHostIT was formed to provide web hosting simply for friends and family.
From 2006 to 2010 UKHostIT was a reseller using servers based in the USA. In 2010 the decision was taken by UKHostIT to move to a private server based in the UK to increase website speed for its UK clients.
All web hosting provided by UKHostIT now resides on servers in Maidstone, Kent and is set up as Cloud Hosting, across several servers, to provide 100% uptime for clients. We now offer our service to the public, and clients are able to use our client area on the website to purchase web hosting, which is fully integrated with our servers.
In the next few months we will add the ability to purchase domain names directly from our website.
We will continue to provide more personal support to those that require it. Many of our clients come to us wanting a website for the first time and we advise and support them through the process, including configuring domain names.
